HOLLYWOOD UNVEILS NEW RESOURCES
FOR PRE- AND POST-CRUISE VISITORS

HOLLYWOOD, FL
- Hollywood, Florida, the home of Port Everglades, has announced online pre- and post-cruise offerings to enhance the vacation experience of visitors to the shores of one of the world's busiest seaports.

A new special section on the Hollywood Office of Tourism (HOT) website provides cruise passengers with helpful onshore information and a variety of options for exploring Hollywood before or after their voyage. The web portal on www.visithollywoodfl.org/cruise was unveiled at cruise3sixty 2009, the industry's leading conference, produced by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale April 2-6.

Hollywood's numerous onshore offerings accommodate cruise passengers with a few hours or a few days to spend experiencing the best of what South Florida has to offer, just minutes from the port. Pre- and post-cruise stays are not only an inexpensive way to explore an additional destination, but also let travelers begin or end their cruise on a relaxing and rested note.

The new web portal offers valuable resources for both consumers and travel professionals, including directions, transportation services, lodging accommodations, Zagat-rated restaurants, and sample itineraries for all ages and interests. Options include beach and nature activities, entertainment and cultural offerings, and kid-friendly fun. "HOT Deals" at Hollywood's resorts, boutique hotels and seaside vacation apartments are just a click away at www.VisitHollywoodFL.org, where the best available online price is always guaranteed.

Picturesque Hollywood is a value-driven destination with unique natural, cultural and historical assets. Recently selected as one of the 2009 "Best Beaches for Families" in Florida by Fodor's Travel Guides, Hollywood boasts seven miles of uncrowded and uninterrupted natural beach that is Blue Wave-certified by the Clean Beaches Council. The 2.5-mile Broadwalk, Florida's only auto-free oceanfront promenade, is part of a historic district that features Old Florida architecture, quaint shops, outstanding waterfront restaurants and inviting beach bars.

Historic Downtown Hollywood is home to an eclectic mix of trendy bistros and sidewalk cafés, lively pubs and jazz clubs, unique boutiques and specialty shops, art galleries and cultural facilities, and the stunning 10-acre ArtsPark at Young Circle.

Hollywood's free year-round entertainment offerings include concerts, classic car shows, cultural events and annual festivals. Other popular diversions are full-service luxury spas, championship golf courses, Vegas-style casino gaming, pari-mutuel facilities, beach-area bicycle tours, and a 1,500-acre mangrove nature preserve for exploring by foot, bike or paddle. World-class shopping is just minutes away.

Traveling between the Downtown and Beach districts is both convenient and economical, with $1 day passes available on the HOT Express Trolley, and free rides for children under 5.

Hollywood is less than 10 minutes from Port Everglades and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and within 30 minutes of the Port of Miami and Miami International Airport. Pre- and post-cruise information is available at www.visithollywoodfl.org/cruise.
