Hollywood Beach erhält Auszeichnung als gesunder Ort zum Schwimmen und Erholen
Hollywood Beach wurde vom Clean Beaches Council zum Blue Wave Clean Beach ernannt. Die Auszeichnung würdigt die Bemühungen der Stadt Hollywood, ihrer Verantwortung für die öffentlichen Strände zum Schutz der allgemeinen Gesundheit und der Umwelt gerecht zu werden. As a result, ours is one of the most pleasant and attractive of all South Florida beaches, and it draws visitors from Fort Lauderdale to Miami thanks to the revamped boardwalk running beside it. |

Named one of America's top ten nostalgic boardwalk promenades by USA Today in 2005, the pedestrian Strandpromenade in Hollywood has undergone a complete renovation.
Built in the 1920s, the oceanfront Broadwalk offers over two miles of car-free enjoyment stretching along an idyllic section of beach nestled between Fort Lauderdale and more central areas of the Miami metropolitan region. Walkers, runners, bicyclists and rollerbladers set their own pace on this path, which is bordered by six miles of Hollywood’s famous coastline, boutique hotels, charming shops, and cafés and places to eat facing the ocean. Hire a bike on the Broadwalk and follow the gorgeous new path. Then, continue into the West Lake Nature Preserve to reconnect with nature and discover what early South Florida looked like.
The beach offers its own entertainment, including paddle ball, volleyball, group yoga, and Tai Chi classes. Several golf courses and tennis courts are also within easy reach. At night, a full season of cultural events takes center stage.
Still, the most popular pastime on the beach is simply savoring the charming character of this truly unique South Florida setting.
